Theatre Texts (written on the bus)

1 – The Fish and the Angel of Death

A Bowl with a Goldfish resting on the floor

A suspended naked twenty year old man

Slowly goes down onto the bowl

Slowly pours the water on the floor and finally drops the fish

The fish is left flapping on the floor in agony lacking oxygen while he swiftly goes up and disappears in black

A very old man comes in with a spade and a big bottle of water.

He quickly puts the fish in the space and then drops it in the bowl while pouring the water

He leaves

The fish is alive

2 – The Hunters, The Dog and the Angel of Death

Three (3) man in their fifties ; short, bold, fat, dressed up in navy green and camouflaged costumes .

They are sitting together with their hunting dog.

They are equipped with three (3) shotguns; VHF radio; three (3) thermos flasks; three (3) cups; one (1) loaf of bread; one (1) lunch n meat can, three (3) tomatoes, one (1) onion, three (3) broad beans (not pealed), hundred (100) grams (g) of cheddar cheese, ‘qaghaq tal-hmira’ and one (1) radio playing seventies (70s) music.

They are silently preparing a sandwich while sipping their coffees.

There is some conversation on the VHF between some other hunters about wives and children.

A young naked man passes by, crossing in front of them, walking very slowly as if he is drifting on air holding a white poodle dog on a leash.

The dogs bark at each other

They stand up and shoot him dead.

And old lady passes by, grabs the leash of the dog and walks away.

3 -The old lady and the White poodle dog.

An old lady; grey curly hair ; dressed up in a brown coat, filigree earnings, brown shoes, red lipstick, is waling with her little white poodle dog.

She stops !

She takes out a pill box from her pocket.

She swallows a pill.

She goes on her knees.

She prays.

She dies.

Dog stays their panting; lost !

4 – The mayor

A red balloon floats in mid air, tied to the leash of a white poddle dog.

The mayor; fat, short, bold, 50 years old, dressed up in suit, accompanied by a crowd of ten(10) to fifteen (15) people enter together with a street band and gather around the balloon.

The mayor is holding a golden scissors and a shotgun

The mayor makes a short “bla bla bla” very serious and emotional speech.

Crowd is moved. Some of them have tears in their eyes,

They mayor cuts the string and the balloon flies towards the skies.

The mayor grabs the shotgun and shoots it.

The white poodle dog barks.

Hundreds of paper money fall from the sky.

The crowd runs away screaming and in panic.

The mayor and the dog are left alone in the space.

The mayor grabs the dog, puts in on his lap and cries.
